Carl Milles, Gottfrid Larsson and Stina Opitz

Vadstena Castle 10/6 – 10/9

Two of Swedens foremost sculptors, Carl Milles and Gottfrid Larsson, began a lifelong friendship during their time at Konstfack, University College of Arts, Crafts and Design. In this summers exibition at Vadstena castle their work creates a unique dialog with the modern works of contemporary artist Stina Opitz. The exibition is presented by the municipality of Vadstena and Visit Vadstena.

10 juni – 7 juli: every day kl 10.00 – 17.00
8 juli – 13 aug: every day kl. 9.30 – 18.00, NOTE! 30/7 The rest of the castle is open between 9.30 – 15.00 because of the Opera matiné. The exibition is open as usual.
14 aug – 7 sept: every day kl. 12.00 – 16.00
8 sept: 12.00 – 20.00

Art Exhibition with Prince Eugene
Vadstena Castle June 11 – Sept 11 – 2016

Prince Eugene (1865 – 1947) was a swedish artist and prince. He is famous for his beautiful landscape paintings. In the exhibition at the castle focus lies on Östergötland as his circle of motives with Örberga village and church  and the views towards Lake Vättern and Omberg. He focuses on the dramatic weather of the area with rain, thunder and dramatic skies.

The exhibition is organised by Vadstena municipality, Visit Vadstena AB,  Prince Eugenes Waldemarsudde, Region Östergötland, Folkuniversitetet and the Museum of Östergötland.

 

 

Exhibitions at the Archives in Vadstena


During the year of 2016 there’s a celebration of the Freedom of the Press that celebrates 250 years. The Archives in Vadstena notes this by arranging an exhibition with this theme.
