Visit Vadstena AB
Visit Vadstena AB runs Vadstena castle as a historic site and tourist attraction on assignment by The National property board of Sweden (SFV). Our mission is to increase the availability of Vadstena Castle and to develop the vitalization. We run all the guiding activity and showing of the castle and as a lead in the vitalization we strongly believe in guiding the castle as if the visitors were being brought back in time to the 16th century together with a royalty from the Vasa family. Which is why all our guides wear historic garments.
We also work actively to develop the castle with new products and themes, in the present situation we offer a number of different guided tours of the castle from different perspectives and themes.
During the opening period of the castle, which is limited to the summer season we also run our nice shop which also functions as our entrance and reception. Another important lead in the activity at the castle is to develop the museum so it is available for visitors on their own during the summer season. We arrange concerts and events on the courtyard of the castle and rent out different parts of the castle for concerts, fairs, proms, weddings, dinners, partys and such.
Through a contract with Vadstena municipality we are in charge of the marina and RV parking that is located in connection to the castle.
Visit overtook the responsibility to run the operation on Vadstena Castle the year of 2009, since then our operation has developed to reach even outside of the castle. Today we can offer a big number of guided tours in the city, monastery area and the hospital area.
Visit Vadstena AB consists of a number of associates which are: MP Innovator, SeVadstena, Fegge – Mattes Ljud, Ljus, Event, Vadstena Camping and Möllers Group.

The Vadstena – Academy
Vadstena-Akademien may be Sweden’s smallest opera house, but when it comes to replenishing the opera repertory it is the country’s greatest institution. So far the Vadstena-Akademien has commissioned and staged 34 new operas and nearly 50 undeservedly lost operas dug out of antique manuscripts. We give both the participants and the audience the chance to encounter operas that are not part of the mainstream repertoire.
Vadstena-Akademien provides an established road to professional life for young singers, musicians and for practioners of other crafts involved in the world of opera such as lighting, wardrobe and stagecraft. Since its opening in 1964, many of Sweden’s professional opera singers such as Anne Sofie von Otter, Nina Stemme and Malena Ernman have all performed at Vadstena Castle or the Old Theatre.
