If you want to experience the castle on your own you can buy your admission ticket and walk around in the castle in your own pace.
At the 1st floor you’ll find information about the history of the castle and also see a model of the castle when it was a fortress, before it became a palace. Beside the exhibition of the history of the castle lies the old kitchen where you can see a preserved slush chute by one of the windows. Alos take the time to see one of our cannon towers that you’ll reach from the exhibition on the first floor!
On the 2nd floor you will find the wedding hall and the great stariwell. These are however of limits during the summer due to Vadstena akademiens Opera.
At the top lies the furnished floor, with inventory from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. From here you can also reach the church and the Great Hall of State.

Admission without guided guided tours means that you experience the castle on your own and in your own pace, along with information and an orientationguide of the castle.
